About Mandar Marathe
Mandar uses art to capture the beauty of fleeting moments in the natural world. Nature, unharmed by humans, has been his constant source of inspiration. The textural feel that oils and acrylics produce, especially when applied with palette knife, make them his mediums of choice. He uses watercolors less often and only when the painting demands transparency. At times he expresses his feelings in three dimensions by sculpting with clay. His paintings invite the viewer to share the joy he felt while capturing the overall experience of the moment. He has done three solo exhibitions till date and has participated in several group shows. His works are in private collections of individuals and corporates.
